the story
How Made by Rhi and Made by Us began
Made by Rhi started in 2023, when I sold a few handmade tops on Depop. I quickly grew to love sewing, so I created a TikTok account to showcase my new pieces and bring some attention to my work.
This was when the Amera Pant gained a lot of interest from a TikTok I had posted. The very next day, I knew I wanted to sell them, and within a week, I had everything set up and ready to go. From there, I officially created my brand, Made by Rhi, and have since completed custom orders, create new collections and inspired many others to start creating too.
I’ve gone through a big transition, from selling my clothes at a low price (and having people even offer lower), to now selling my work for what it’s truly worth. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding, especially when I receive photos and lovely messages from customers who genuinely love their pieces.
I wanted to help other sewers do something similar: list their work on a website, feel confident in what they’re selling, and be part of a supportive creative community. That’s how Made by Us was created, a space that allows passionate, talented individuals to do what they love.
Made by Us also aims to respond to fast fashion. Each piece is one of a kind or very limited quantity, with many made from recycled fabrics. It’s a way for us, as a community, to push back against fast fashion and also move away from everyone wearing the same pieces of clothing.
The Creators’ Story
Many of the creators involved in Made by Us started in a similar way — sewing at home, experimenting with designs, and creating simply because they loved it. Some have sold pieces on platforms like Depop, while others are just beginning to share their work more widely. What began as a creative outlet often grew into something bigger: a desire to share their work, be valued for their time and skill, and create pieces they’re genuinely proud of.
Made by Us exists to support these creators by giving them a space to list their work, reach new people, and be part of a community that values creativity, individuality, and handmade design.
